Peppermint Tea

Peppermint is my go-to tea whenever I am sick. Just a few sips of peppermint tea starts to make me feel better. There is plenty of menthol in the peppermint leaves which causes an anesthetic effect on your throat, suppressing your cough. Which is why so many cough drops contain mint.

10 peppermint leaves, 1 tsp honey, 1 cup of boiling water.

Oregano Tea

Did you know Oregano contains anti-fungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties? This herb really helps support the immune system. Making it an outstanding treatment for colds, flu, viruses, and fevers.

1 sprig of fresh oregano, 1 tsp of honey, 1-2 cups of boiling water.

Thyme Tea

The oil in Thyme leaves, is often used as a natural cough remedy. Did you know original Ricola cough drops contain Thyme? Next time you have a cough or sore throat, try drinking some thyme tea!

2 springs of fresh thyme, 10-16 oz hot water, optional: fresh lemon and or raw honey.

Holy Basil Tea

Holy Basil which is also known as tulsi, is a powerful herb that has been known for it's medicinal properties. Although basil is not as common as other teas, it’s makes a great option to help soothe an upset stomach.

1 1/2 tbsp sliced basil, 1 slice of lemon, 1 cup of boiling water, 1 tsp honey.

Sage Tea

Sage is a good herb tea for the first tickle of a sore throat, as it's known to tone irritated tissues and kill bacteria. Again sage is also found in Ricola cough drops! Sage has been used to treat many respiratory problems, including bronchitis, cough, and throat inflammation.

1 tbsp of sage leaves, 1 cup almost boiling water, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp honey
